Abstract This book provides readers with a deeper, more accurate understanding of de Falla's creative process by drawing from a complete array of rare, authentic sources, including his own personal library, valuable sketch material, and the more than 20,000 pieces of correspondence maintained in Granada, Spain, byt the Manuel de Falla Archive. The book is arranged in three parts, including biographical details, specific facets of his life and music, and a description of his works. The book is illustrated with manuscript examples grouped by stylistic classifications of the Manuel de Falla Archive's musical director, Yvan Nommic, which assist in presenting the development of de Falla's creative process. This book is of great significance to music students and teachers, as well as those with an interest in Spanish culture.
